Adat Shalom is a congregation of believers, both Jews and Gentiles, who have joined together for the main purpose of reaching out to the Jewish community with the good news of the Jewish Messiah.
Our authority is the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, for all things that pertain to faith and practice. As a body of believers, we are committed to coming together regularly for worship, the learning of God's word, and for mutual fellowship and encouragement. Adat Shalom seeks to be a loving witness to the Jewish community, as well as become a congregation that promotes the growth of faith, hope and love among one another.

"Confronting Kabbalah" presented by Amy Downey
Friday, July 30th, 7:30pm
From movie stars to East Texas barbers, the idea of the ancient Jewish mystical concept of Kabbalah has fascinated millions of people. Weekend seminars offer the hope of “godhood” to people empty of hope and filled with despair for the future. But what does the Word of God say about this ancient and modern mystical belief. The answer goes back to the very beginning of time.
About Amy Downey
"My heart has always been to see the salvation of the Jewish people. As the daughter of a Baptist minister, I have always understood that my salvation and my privilege of eternity with God has been because of a Jewish man named Jesus. How could I not want to see the Jewish people come to know Him as Messiah?"
At the age of twenty-eight, Amy followed the mission call to reach the Jewish people with the truth that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. This call has taken her across the country to speak in churches and meetings across eighteen states and Canada about the need for the Christian church to take on the responsibility of Jewish evangelism mandated in Romans 1:16 and 11:11-24. Out of this passion for the Jewish people, Tzedakah Ministries was born, “to equip His church to reach His people.”
The purpose of Tzedakah Ministries can be found in its name -- Tzedakah -- which in Hebrew means "righteousness." However, Tzedakah means so much more. As the Holman Bible Dictionary explains, ".... righteousness is the fulfillment of the terms of a covenant between God and humanity or between humans in the full range of human relationships." Tzedakah Ministries has a burden to see the Jewish people restored to a righteous covenant relationship with Him -- one that is only possible through Messiah Jesus.
Amy has a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from East Texas Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Communication and Master of Arts in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is a professor at Arlington Baptist College (Arlington, TX) and the author of Paul’s Relationship to the Jewish People: An Analysis of 1 Thessalonians 2:13-16 and Romans 9:1-5 (Emanuel University Press, 2007) along with numerous magazine articles. Visit her website at www.tzedakahministries.org to learn more.
Amy is a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas, and a participant in Adat Shalom Messianic Congregation in Dallas, Texas.
